More than 130 000 signatures for referendum

On Tuesday 19th of August 2008 the members of the civic initiative No to Bases visited the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
We spoke with the Chairperson of the Committee on Petitions and handed over new packs of filled petition sheets with some 48 146 signatures.
So far, the total number of signatures delivered to the Parliament is 129 808.
Further signatures are still arriving – few hundreds of them were assembled just for the last week.
The number of all signatures under the petition demanding referendum on the proposed US radar in Czech republic thus surpasses 130 000.
