US scientist: Information on US radar distorted
5.12.2008 - Prague Daily Monitor
Plzen, Nov 20 (CTK) - Czech society and parliament are receiving expediently distorted information on the U.S. missile defence radar to be stationed in the Brdy military district, 90 km southwest of Prague, U.S. independent scientist Theodor Postol said in Plzen Thursday.
(…)
Given its current parameters, the radar cannot have such a range of which U.S. representatives and the Czech government talk, Postol said.
(…)
He said the Czech public was receiving distorted information both from the USA and from the Czech government. Some people at the Czech Defence Ministry were urged to keep silent about the fact that the information provided to the public is untrue, Postol said.
He said he learnt about this from his private talks with these people.
The effort to manipulate the political process with the help of untrue or unpublished information is an extremely dangerous and undemocratic precedent, Postol said.
