NATO and Ukraine pledge to deepen cooperation

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko was welcomed for the first time to NATO Headquarters by NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on 29 January 2008. They discussed the NATO-Ukraine Intensified Dialogue, and both pledged to deepen it.

The Prime Minister and the Secretary General discussed the NATO-Ukraine Intensified Dialogue, and both pledged to deepen it. In that regard, the Secretary General welcomed recent progress made by Ukraine to take forward the country's Annual Target Plan. He also reiterated NATO's continued support for Ukraine's efforts to pursue reforms and move closer to the Euro-Atlantic Community (and further away from Moscow... - note No to Bases initiative).
